AON Benelux | Insurance | 53,000 employees globally.
Since 2023, AON have been planning a multi-year program to:
Upgrade its technology and application functions
Implement a LEAN way of working
Consolidate management layers
Strengthen and increase alignment on AON’s technology system globally
The company engaged with Venquis to alleviate the struggle in finding the right resources – particularly within specialist areas like Lean & Change.
Key Challenges
AON has faced multiple challenges in getting its ambitious, multi-year program off the ground. Firstly, there are not enough of the right resources available to drive forward with its plans. This is, in part, due to a culture clash being experienced by the merging of its Belgium and Netherlands entities. Some of its crucial employees have moved on from the business as a result, and AON has found it challenging to replace them – particularly LEAN specialists, who are particularly hard to find. This, in turn, is having a knock-on impact on the global consolidation of its technology landscape.
Understanding AON’s Needs
AON engaged with Venquis in 2023 to discuss how to attract and retain the right resources to be able to implement its global transformation projects over the next few years. One pain point highlighted was the large transformation taking place in Belgium and The Netherlands, as they aimed to merge both countries into a single entity – this was facilitating a culture clash that was, in turn, slowing down its wider transformation projects.
The Venquis team spent time on site to understand the environment & direction where they were aiming towards, understand the program direction and witness the challenges in real time. This allowed the team to pitch the solution against the needs of the company to support AON’s digital transformation plans.
We presented multiple solutions to AON, which included permanent staff, Detavast & freelance/ZZP solutions, through to building specific project teams and filling in gaps formed during the evolving roadmap.
